2025 edition - the 800th anniversary

The 13th edition celebrated 800 years since the imperial wedding of Frederick II and Isabella of Brienne, held in Brindisi Cathedral on 9 November 1225.

  • Friday 5 September, 18:30
    Talk with historian Giacomo Carito on Brindisi in the age of Frederick II - Palazzina Belvedere; followed by the video mapping “Frederick II and the Crusade of Peace” on the Casa del Turista.
  • Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September, 17:30
    Treasure hunt “In the footsteps of Frederick II”; afterwards (19:00-22:00) the Villages of Crafts and Flavours at the Casa del Turista and the former Scuole Pie convent.
  • Tuesday 23 September, 16:30
    Alessandro Barbero - one of Italy’s best-known and most followed historians, whose lectures have brought the Middle Ages to an audience of millions - presented his book San Francesco at the Teatro Impero, with ATS EPICA, Feltrinelli and the Regional Library and Museum Network. One of the most anticipated events of the edition.

A living museum of the Middle Ages

Re-enactors, historians, artisans and performers tell the story of Frederick II’s court and of Brindisi as gateway to the East - between the Swabian Castle, the Cathedral and the Casa del Turista on the seafront.
