About us
The Medieval Fest is a joint project of cultural associations, institutions and local businesses, promoted within ATS EPICA under the patronage of the Municipality of Brindisi and the Brindisi-Taranto Chamber of Commerce.
Born to promote the Brindisi area through the study and re-enactment of the Middle Ages of the sacred routes and of Frederick II, the puer Apuliae, the festival reached its 13th edition in 2025. In the launch edition the role of the Emperor was played by actor Michele Placido.
Festival days combine re-enactment, performance and scholarship, with talks by historians, workshops, educational itineraries, augmented-reality experiences, guided visits, school projects, seminars, exhibitions and themed games. A dedicated area welcomes children with a medieval playroom, puppet theatre, storytellers, dancers, musicians and craft workshops.
The festival artists

Squares and historic venues come alive with fire-eaters, jesters, musicians, dancers and re-enactors: each edition invites artists and re-enactment companies of national and international standing, alongside the local historical associations, drawing the audience into the performance.
